Teak on boats<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Teak has been used for centuries in the marine decking manufacture and is highly resistant to decomposition. Even when unprocessed, teak is a beautiful material, however, it requires some protection. Choosing suitable protection is more than just a matter of aesthetics; it prevents water penetration, which may seriously damage the material and leave unattractive marks on the surface, and prevents decomposition of wood and corrosion of metallic components.<\/p>\n

Waterproof seal coatings are used to protect the wood. Using teak flooring will strengthen the structure of the lower part of the deck and provide an excellent insulation in hot and cold environments.<\/p>\n

The properties of teak, such as oil, grease, talc, resin content and porosity, depend on it origin and age.<\/p>\n

Fresh teak wood has a yellow-green color which changes to brown-yellow to dark brown after drying. It also contains visible brown or black lines of 2 to 8 mm of width.<\/p>\n

The colour of Burmese and Thai teak is always of a darker shade, while Indonesian teak is lighter.<\/p>\n

Teak decking on boats is made by a template technique, which means that we make a template exactly matching the desired surfaces on the boat.<\/p>\n

Only certified teak with the FSC and FEQ quality is used, which means that the wood has been cut and sawn in compliance with applicable regulations.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″]
